I knew just by looking at the cover that this book was gonna be a great read, so it should come as no surprise that I immediately requested a review copy. I was not disappointed. Born without arms or legs, Nick Vujicic spent his early days scaring his parents to death because he just refused to be still. He learned to push himself into an upright position by pushing himself up against a wall with his forhead. Now that takes guts and determination.
The book Life Without Limbs is inspirational from start to finish — a description of Nick’s journey to God’s plan for his life intermixed with life lessons he learned along the way. I was a bit wary, and I have to admit that several sections pushed popular psychology and not as much Scripture as I personally would prefer. However, the reading of Nick’s story was riveting enough that I could not put the book down and I was definitely inspired to strive for better days. I cannot imagine anyone reading this book or watching his videos and not come away inspired. To endure what Nick has endured from birth and to rise above his circumstances to run a successful speaking business proves that Nick has a lot of wisdom to share about life. Popular psychology aside, I really enjoyed this book.
This book was provided by the publisher free of charge in exchange for an honest review on my blog. Here you have it.
